This page describes what Snapfile collects, what we keep, and what we throw away. It's written to be readable, not to satisfy lawyers — but it's accurate. Email support@snapfile.tax if anything's unclear.
What we collect
To prepare your Form 5472 and pro forma Form 1120, we ask for:
- Your LLC's name, EIN, formation state and date, registered address, business activity
- Your full name, country of citizenship, country of tax residence, and foreign tax ID (or "AppliedFor")
- Transactions for each tax year you're filing — capital contributions, distributions, and any other reportable transactions
- Your email address, for sign links, fax receipts, and reminders
Bank statements
If you upload bank statements so we can extract transaction totals automatically, they are processed in memory and immediately discarded. They are never written to permanent storage and are not retained after the extraction completes. We extract the totals we need, and that's it.
What we retain
- The IRS fax transmission receipt — your proof of filing.
- Your entity and owner information needed to produce next year's filing if you come back.
- Stripe payment metadata for refunds and dispute handling.
The signed PDF you upload is held only long enough to fax it to the IRS and deliver the receipt back to you, then deleted.
Who we share with
- The IRS — by fax to the Ogden PIN Unit. That's the whole point.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Telnyx — the carrier that routes our outbound fax to the IRS number.
- Email provider — to deliver sign links, fax receipts, and reminders.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete your account and the associated filing data at any time by emailing support@snapfile.tax. We may retain payment records and fax receipts where US tax recordkeeping rules require it (typically 3–7 years), but personal data unrelated to those records will be deleted.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-functional cookies to keep you signed in to the filing flow and to remember your draft. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
